Okay I'm sure everyone is aware of the fact that baking soda is in products such as toothpaste and laundry detergent.

But, did you know it works wonders for many other things?

Okay, so I'm currently [slightly] obsessed with baking soda.
That's right. Obsessed, I tell ya. It all started when I was looking for ways to whiten my teeth.
I started researching and found a little recipe I have named:

Sparkling White Tooth Paste

what you'll need:
hydrogen peroxide
pure baking soda
small bowl
toothbrush
toothpaste

Pour about 2 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide into 3 teaspoons of baking soda. Mix these two together until it becomes a paste. Obviously you can play with the measurements to find the correct pasty state that you like. You can mix your favorite toothpaste with it to give it flavor (trust me, it needs it). Scoop the mixture onto your toothbrush until you have the same amount of paste you would normally use if it were just toothpaste. I personally just mix it up with my toothbrush since I'm going to be putting on there anyway. Then brush away for 2 minutes. It will foam up so make sure you are over the sink and not trying to multitask. I would only recommend doing this once (maybe twice) a week as it can make your gums a little tender. Especially if you have sensitive gums like muah.

I just started doing this and could honestly notice results immediately.  Hubby said he couldn't tell a difference so I've decided to wait to post pictures until I have CLEARLY VISIBLE results.

Oh, I just couldn't stop there. Can I use for anything else?
What about a hair cleanse?
Maybe a face wash?

These are both simple -- sprinkle a little bit onto your handful of shampoo and/or face wash.

As a shampoo additive, the baking soda scrubs away any left over residue that your shampoo and conditioning routine may be leaving behind. This is especially helpful if you tend to use a lot of product in your hair.   I would recommend only doing this every so often, especially if you have color treated hair. Only, when you feel the life leaving your hair and it just seems weighed down... that's the time to do it.

For your face, baking soda is works as a scrub. It is not too fine but not too coarse, which is perfect. After a nasty breakout a lot of us have those unsightly dry patches where the evil zit once was. Scrubbing with baking soda gently removes that dead skin and allows the blemish to heal properly.

Do you know of any other uses for baking soda? I'd love to try them out! Comment your ideas and thoughts!
